Using electric propulsion, Heimdallr will follow a graceful, low-energy transfer trajectory towards the Moon.
Heimdallr will feature non-volatile and non-energetic, Electric Propulsion to reach Lunar Orbit. By not having a pressurized vessel nor carrying dangerous chemicals, Heimdallr will be one of the safest 6U CubeSats aboard NASA’s Space Launch System EM-1 Mission in 2018.
Heimdallr will feature deployable solar panels to provide the necessary electrical power to the propulsion system.
Heimdallr features automated Command and Control Software to reduce the human resources required for Mission Operations. This includes automated download of telemetry data, secure uploading of commands, and various flight plans dependent on the mission.
Environmental Testing is performed in accordance with the definitive specification, GSFC-STD-7000, as well as NASA Goddard’s Golden Rules specification, GSFC-STD-1000, used to qualify our components for our Lunar CubeSat.
Ragnarok employs the stringent NASA NPR 7123.1B Systems Engineering framework for the development of our Lunar CubeSat, Heimdallr. The internal requirements tracking, verification & validation is performed using Spec Innovation’s Innoslate.
